From the author
The author’s idea for this Cantata was to draw a sounding portrait of the poet Velimir Khlebnikov — the “Chairman of the Globe”, a temerarious reformer of the Russian poetic language, the creator of “zaumў” (poetical nonsense), who would amalgamate the sounds of nature and those of human speech, Slavic mythology and A. Einstein’s relativity theory.
The first movements of this composition, full of poetic charades and phantasmagory, are followed by those filled with the feeling of loneliness and detachment of the artistic soul living in this world. The cantata ends up with a pantheistic requiem to the Poet. The cantata may be performed with a conductor. In case it is impossible to have orchestral bells for the performance, the latter could be substituted with a vibraphone with the most hard sticks available.
