They range from the Admiralty ship which celebrates the glory of the port city to the angel crowning the spire of the bell-tower of Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral which personifies the soaring spirit of St. Petersburg and to the mighty warrior on a fiery steed who galloped onto the top of a rock in August 1782 and froze there for centuries to come - the "Bronze Horseman". All of them are visible images reflecting over 300 years of history of the Northern capital. How-ever, the city has an official symbol as well - the coat-of-arms.
